The Riding School
At LOH we offer group and private riding lessons for students 7 years of age to adult. We teach from the first introduction to horses to competitive training. Unlike most barns that only emphasize the riding portion of Equestrian sports, our riders learn, understand, and have hands-on experience with a wide range of horse activities. Students learn to groom, tack up and "put away" the horse as part of their lessons and some lessons may be "ground lessons". We feel that by structuring our lesson program in this manner, we are able to develop safe, confident, and knowledgeable equestrian athletes of the future!
The LOH Riding School has a number of teaching staff -- both two-legged and four-legged -- and coordinates with the LOH Riding School Advanced Riding Program for students who wish to pursue more advanced riding without specializing in any of the on site independently-run training programs. Through the Riding School, students may also participate in Summer Camps.
The Lake Oswego Hunt Riding School admits students of any race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship programs and athletic and other school administered programs.
At the Riding School at Lake Oswego Hunt, our mission is teaching from beginner basics to advanced riding skills. Each rider is helped to set and achieve specific goals. When a rider has mastered those goals through the Riding School, we will recommend graduation to either the Advanced Riding Program, or one of our resident in-house trainers specializing in Combined Training or Dressage, where they can continue their equestrian education.
